Shandong to promote the medical device alert system pilot work

Recently, the Shandong Provincial Drug Administration held a medical device alert pilot work start-up meeting. The relevant person in charge of the Drug Administration of Shandong province interprets the“Work plan of the Shandong Provincial Medical Device Alert System Pilot Project”(hereinafter referred to as“The plan”) , the work target, key task, time arrangement and work requirement of the medical device alert system pilot are introduced in detail. 

It is reported that Shandong province is one of the leading provinces in the medical device alert system pilot work. According to the overall arrangement of the State Food and Drug Administration for the pilot work, Shandong province is mainly responsible for writing the guidelines for the report on the alert trend of medical devices and the writing guidelines for the periodic summary report, and risk monitoring, identification, assessment and control procedures of medical devices, medical device alert information sharing and notification system, and other research and development work. 

The meeting requested that the relevant units of the Shandong Provincial Drug Administration should fully understand the significance of the medical device alert system pilot work, the pilot work into the key work of the year to accelerate; The medical device registrants participating in the pilot should fulfill the main responsibility of medical device vigilance; the medical institutions should expand the coverage of monitoring and strengthen the collection and reporting of vigilance data; The member units of the Pilot Working Group shall initiate the study and formulation of relevant documents, procedures and guiding principles as soon as possible.
