release time:2023-02-15|reading:

Recently, the national COVID-19 infection epidemic situation has become more stable, and the overall trend continues to consolidate. Experts remind that winter and spring are the high incidence seasons of various respiratory infectious diseases. In addition to COVID-19. some other pathogens will also attack the human respiratory tract and lungs, such as influenza virus and human respiratory syncytial virus. Therefore, prevention and treatment should also be done. On February 10. the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued a Q&A on the prevention and treatment of human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) infection, introducing the authoritative knowledge of HRSV virus.

According to the information released by the Health Communication Center of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, HRSV is an RNA virus belonging to the family Pneumoviridae and the genus Orthopulmonary Virus. After HRSV infection, the incubation period is usually 2-8 days, and the clinical manifestations are mainly respiratory tract infection symptoms. The early HRSV infection is mostly confined to the upper respiratory tract, with clinical manifestations such as nasal congestion, runny nose, cough and hoarseness. Most of the symptoms of children with HRSV infection will disappear within 1-2 weeks, and a small part of them can develop into lower respiratory tract infection, mainly manifested as bronchiolitis or pneumonia, most of which are found in infants under 2 years old. The clinical symptoms include cough, wheezing, and a small part of them will further aggravate dyspnea and feeding difficulties, and the serious cases can develop into respiratory failure.

"For children, we should pay attention to the impact caused by respiratory syncytial virus infection." Xu Wenbo, director of the Institute of Virology of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that people of all ages can be infected with HRSV, but the high-risk groups of HRSV infection are mainly concentrated in children, the elderly and people with low immune function.

In terms of transmission routes, both symptomatic HRSV infected persons and asymptomatic recessive infected persons can transmit the virus, usually through the following ways: first, contact transmission, such as nasopharyngeal mucosa or eye mucosa contact with virus-containing secretions or pollutants; Second, the patient coughs or sneezes in close contact. Gao Zhancheng, director of the Department of Respiratory Medicine of the People's Hospital of Peking University, said that for the prevention of vulnerable people, we should pay attention to washing hands frequently, avoid touching the eyes, mouth and nose with unclean hands, develop good personal hygiene habits, wear masks in time, and reduce access to crowded places.
