Use the right medicine to prevent menstruation

Dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological disease, which is common in women before and after menstruation or during menstruation. The main symptom is pelvic pain, often accompanied by lumbar acid, fatigue, nausea, etc.

对症用药,让痛经离你远远的

Dysmenorrhea is divided into secondary dysmenorrhea and primary dysmenorrhea.

Secondary dysmenorrhea is caused by diseases, such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, cervical stenosis, pelvic inflammation, etc.

Primary dysmenorrhea has nothing to do with the disease, but is caused by the increase of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis in the endometrium.

In clinic, most dysmenorrhea belongs to primary dysmenorrhea.

There are many kinds of drugs for dysmenorrhea clinically, mainly including chemical drugs and proprietary Chinese medicines.

Different drugs are administered in different ways.

  4 common chemical drugs

There are four commonly used drugs to treat dysmenorrhea, including prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, antispasmodic sedatives and oral contraceptives.

  01. Prostaglandin synthetase inhibitor

By inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, these drugs reduce the sensitivity of the body's pain receptors to inflammatory stimuli, thereby increasing the body's pain threshold and achieving the goal of relieving dysmenorrhea.

Ibuprofen sustained-release capsules (tablets, granules) and naproxen tablets (capsules) are commonly used drugs.

These drugs should be taken 2 days before menstruation begins.

Because prostaglandins are released most two days before menstruation, taking the drug two days before menstruation can prevent the synthesis and release of prostaglandins; If the drug is taken again after the pain starts, it is difficult to achieve the desired analgesic effect.

The main adverse reactions of prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors are gastrointestinal symptoms and allergic reactions, so gastrointestinal ulcer is prohibited.

In addition, this kind of medicine cannot be taken for a long time, usually for no more than 3 consecutive days.

  02. Calcium channel blockers

It can relieve smooth muscle, relieve uterine spasm and contraction, expand blood vessels, improve uterine blood supply, and thus achieve the purpose of treating dysmenorrhea.

For example, nifedipine can interfere with the passage of calcium ions through the cell membrane, prevent the release of calcium ions, thereby reducing the concentration of calcium ions around uterine muscle cells, and weakening uterine contraction to achieve therapeutic purposes.

These drugs need to be taken during dysmenorrhea.

  03. Antispasmodic and sedative

Such research drugs include aspirin, atropine, belladonna extract tablets, anisodamine hydrobromide (654-2), chlorpromazine, etc., which can achieve better analgesic effect by relieving the spasm of uterine smooth muscle.

Generally, this kind of medicine has been used when dysmenorrhea symptoms occur. It should not be taken for a long time. Long term adherence to the method of taking can easily lead to drug resistance in the human body, leading to reduced efficacy.

  04. Oral Short acting Contraceptives

Such research drugs can effectively inhibit the hypothalamus pituitary ovary axis, inhibit ovulation and endometrial cell growth, reduce the levels of prostaglandin and vasopressin, and then achieve the purpose of analgesia.

The main method is applicable to dysmenorrhea women who need contraception, and has obvious therapeutic effect on primary dysmenorrhea.

The commonly used oral short acting contraceptives mainly include deoxynyl ketone alkyne glycol tablets, alkyne glycol cycloacetone tablets, deoxypregnant alkyne glycol tablets, compound alkyne ketone tablets, compound medroxyprogesterone acetate tablets, etc.

These drugs need to be taken continuously or regularly, usually from the fifth day of the menstrual period, once a day for 22 days. Gastrointestinal reaction and abnormal liver function may occur after medication.

High risk factors, such as over 35 years old, diabetes, hypertension, history of thrombosis, and smokers, should be alert to the risk of thrombosis after medication.

Traditional Chinese medicine based on syndrome differentiation

TCM syndrome differentiation of dysmenorrhea generally includes stagnation of qi and blood, stagnation of cold and damp, stagnation of damp and heat, weakness of qi and blood, and deficiency of liver and kidney.

Commonly used Chinese patent medicines to treat pain of qi stagnation and blood stasis type mainly include Xuefu Zhuyu Pill, Compound Motherwort Ointment, Futong Pill, Nujin Pill, Fuke Desheng Pill, Tongjing Oral Liquid, Yimu Granule, Fuke Tiaojing Tablet, Tongjingbao Granule, etc.

The main effect is to promote the circulation of qi and blood, remove blood stasis and relieve pain.

The Chinese patent medicines often used to treat cold dampness stagnation pain mainly include Aifu Nuangong Pill, Shaofu Zhuyu Pill, Wenjing Yangxue Mixture, Nuangong Qiwei Pill, Tianqi Tongjing Capsule, and Gynecological Reconstruction Pill.

The main effect is to warm the meridians, dispel cold, remove blood stasis and relieve pain.

Treatment of dysmenorrhea of damp heat and blood stasis type Some commonly used Chinese patent medicine products mainly include Huahong tablet, Kangfuyan capsule, Fuyan recovery time capsule, etc.

The main effect is to clear away heat and damp, remove blood stasis and relieve pain.

The commonly used Chinese medicines for treating dysmenorrhea of weak qi and blood mainly include Babaomu Pill, Analgesic Tablet, Fubao Pill, Nv Pill, Shiquan Buyao Pill and Wuji Baifeng Pill.

Its main function is to nourish qi and blood, regulate menstruation and relieve pain.

Chinese patent medicines for dysmenorrhea due to liver and kidney deficiency mainly include Lutai ointment, waist strengthening and kidney tonifying pills, and incomparable yams.

Its main functions are to replenish kidney, essence, blood and pain.

Use Chinese patent medicine to treat dysmenorrhea, generally adhere to 2~3 menstrual cycles.

Different people have different constitutions, so we should use medicine dialectically under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine.

  Develop good living habits

If dysmenorrhea is accompanied by organic diseases, such as menorrhagia, pelvic inflammation, hysteromyoma, genital malformation, etc.

You should see a doctor as soon as possible.

In addition, we should pay attention to forming good habits in life.

First, social life needs self-discipline. During menstruation, do not eat raw, cold and spicy food. Pay attention to wearing clothes to keep warm and have more rest.

You can exercise moderately at ordinary times and ensure adequate sleep.

When dysmenorrhea occurs, drink more hot brown sugar ginger water or hot boiled water to promote the blood system circulation of patients, promote our blood flow and the elimination of metabolites, and relieve dysmenorrhea.

Second, pay attention to hygiene at ordinary times. During menstruation, pay attention to the cleaning of the vulva, and use warm water for 1-2 times to prevent the invasion of pathogens.

During menstruation, it is forbidden to use vaginal drugs and take bath in sitting position.

Third, keep happy. Stress can promote the production of prostaglandins and aggravate the feeling of pain.

Therefore, before and during menstruation, you should relax. A good attitude is also conducive to relieving dysmenorrhea.
